While the pub remains at the heart of village life, we’re excited to bring a fresh new chapter to this much-loved West Sussex pub. Expect fresh seasonal menus, perfectly kept beer, a warm welcome for families, walkers and cyclists, and plenty of space for dogs to relax after an adventure in the South Downs.

We’re Charlie and Sam, and we’re delighted to be the new custodians of this wonderful village pub.
Charlie’s family has called Funtington home for more than 30 years, giving us a strong connection to the village and community that makes this place so special. From the moment we took on The Fox & Hounds, we knew we wanted to preserve everything people love about it while bringing fresh energy and new ideas for the future. We’re looking forward to getting to know both familiar faces and new visitors alike.
Our aim is simple: to create a welcoming country pub where great food, quality drinks and genuine hospitality come together. Whether you’re popping in for a quick pint, bringing the family for Sunday lunch or stopping by with the dog after a countryside walk, you’ll always find a warm welcome waiting.
